Other Useful Weather Links

NOAA Aviation Weather Center  This page is the home page of the NOAA Aviation Weather Center and from there one can access all of the standard weather reports as well as a number of experimental products. The page includes both text and graphical items.

DTC DUATS  and  CSC DUATS
These are the two "official" places to get a computerized weather briefing. Other sources provided here are not considered "official", as there is no record kept that the pilot actually got a briefing, and delivery of the most current data is not guaranteed on the other sites.

Published NOTAMs  Monthly NOTAM publication. NOTAMs in this publication are no longer displayed in DUATs reports and will not be given to the pilot by the weather briefer unless the pilot specifically requests them. The page contains the last two issues, and links from each of the issues exist for a complete list of the abbreviations used in weather reports and NOTAMs.

NOAA National Hurricane Center  During the Atlantic and Caribbean hurricane season (June 1 - November 30) this page contains detailed information about active hurricanes, tropical storms, tropical depressions and tropical waves which might affect the eastern United States. The information provided includes the latest predicted storm tracks and other data.

Skew-T Plots
weather.unisys.com/upper_air/skew
twister.sbs.ohio-state.edu/skewt.html
These are two sites where you can view the actual data produced by the weather balloons. Data is provided in either graphical or text form. The plots show the temperature and dewpoint lapse rates and the wind profile. The text data includes all of the standard predictors of the potential for convective activity (lifted index, CAPE, etc.).
